Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - BAF Groot - Groot

Probably, of the most unforgettable character in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy is the Monarch of Planet - Groot. Groot was actually an invader from another planet which captures human for experimentation which was changed way back 2006 and was turned into a noble warrior. By this time I am writing this, I still don't have the whole Guardians of the Galaxy set and the reason I already have this Build a Figure Groot is because I found a loose one lurking around the market. Ain't he cute huh?

The Second Build-a-Figure in my collection Groot - if we should compare it along the movie the detail was accurate. In a sense he's a large tree,even the height goes well and those algae on his body are good. Articulation however have some minor issues depending on the part you will get. This one has an issue over the right arm and having a hard time to rotate via 360 degress. It still lack articulation though around the waist. Last, the pegs between the joints are so soft that it's too vulnerable from breakage so you might need to handle it with an added care.

He is a good photography subject, aint he?

Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - Part 7 - Build A Figure: Mandroid

Finally! Part 7 - Mandroid - First, what or who is Mandroid anyway? Mandroid is a combat suit originally designed by Tony Stark for the use of SHIELD. If ever your wondering there's no basic design for a Mandroid so don't go bother yourself searching where this guy appeared - it has a different appearance on different series and issues.I actually didn't target it but since I had all the critical hard to get parts I was force to do so and now I'm broke, HA!

Design is similar to Iron Monger only grey and head is different. If you are a Gundam fan you might be seeing a Z-Gok like figure. A large logo of SHIELD can be found on it's chest, a cannon on the right shoulder, a Gatling gun in the right and a claw-like claw [what?] on the left. Details was good from simple tubes to scribbles around, Not Bad huh?

Right Arm with Gatling gun can be acquired through Marvel Legend Infinite Series Baron Zemo or Marvel Legend Infinite Series AIMS Soldier.

Left Arm with Claw like Claw [again, what?] can be acquired through Marvel Legend Infinite Series Red Skull or Marvel Legend Infinite Series Hydra Soldier.

Torso and Upper Right Cannon can be acquired through the hard to find Marvel Legend Infinite Series Avengers Movie Black Widow, Left Leg through Marvel Legend Infinite Series Winter Soldier, Right Leg through Marvel Legend Infinite Series Captain America Stealth Suit and Head through Marvel Legend Infinite Series Captain America Now. Marvel Legend Infinite Series Captain America WWII has no BAF part.

So, the verdict - articulation wasn't that good though but not bad so let's say it's so-so. And is it worth building? Well probably not, unlike the Toybiz BAF's such as Fin Fang Foom, Apocalypse and Sentinel which is unique in a kind of way. Mandroid not being a key character in my opinion gives it a less value although Black Widow with the Torso having too hard to find status it increases Mandroid's value.

Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - Part 1 - Captain America Now

So, probably the main reason I have this dude is because of the "Oh-so-hard-to-find!" Avenger Black Widow ML. As we all now, This Series has the S.H.I.E.L.D Mandroid BAF - don't know if this Mandroid's gonna be pricey like the other BAFs such as the Sentinel and Fin Fang Foom because if you ask me it's very similar to the previous Iron Monger BAF regardless of the fact that it's torso is harder to acquire. We'll if ever I had the chance to complete it, I'll create a separate post especially made for the Mandroid.

Our package contains Captain America in his Captain America NOW look - taken from a comic book released way back in 2012 if my research is accurate. Thus, so far we could at least say it's a new Captain America. Package includes his shield - not the strap like shield as before - but a snap-on a peg type shield with an amazing internal look and Mandroid's Head.

Capt's details in these one is ridiculously great - yes, "great". Putting aside the fact that it is a New look we could say it was atleast 90% accurate - except for some little paint chips around the waist and a little around the head. Sculpt wasn't bad either and the shield looks great.

Articulation is good but there is a little bit of problem around the waist and the abs - a little fix would do. It limits posing and is vulnerable from cracks . And one more, there is something I really don't like about it - unlike the WWII ML IS Captain America that has a gun this one has nothing but his Shield. So Basically, as we can see his right hand clenched and an open one in the left - so what is it for? Might have been better if they had designed it just like the other ML's with interchangeable hands or rather I think I prefer it with both clenched fist. Then again, it's not totally useless since you can pose it as if he was holding the shield on his left.

Now, the biggest question here is "is it worth getting?" If you are planning to build Mandroid - Yes, because he's the only one who has Mandroid's Head. If your reason is not about the BAF - Yes, because he is one of the coolest Captain America around.

Iron Man from the Iron Monger BAF Series - My favorite suit of all, Bleeding Edge/Heroic Age. Comes in after the Extremis Armour - the self healing-almost-invulnerable running completely with Repulsor Tech.

So, what I really notice about this and yes I'am still researching is does the design really has to bring out a bulk effect? Just look at his shoulders, they look so masculine comapred to the other boxed like armours. Anyway, figures design is good. Details weren't bad although some paint dubs are not properly aligned.

If only this core are glowing - much better, but it doesn't so oh well.

And surprisingly, he is figuregenic -and by the way before I forgot, I really don't like those hands. A cleneched and an open one, I guess it's better than having an annoying pointing or holding hand that looks ridiculous on figures, but could have been much better if it's changeable.

[Marvel Legends] Mojo Series Psylocke

And yes, our next update is an old figure from Toy Biz - ML Mojo Series Psylocke. No she didn't slip, I was trying to strike a pose. Psylocke (also known as Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock) is a fictional character depicted in comic books published by Marvel Comics, most notably those featuring the superhero team X-Men. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Herb Trimpe in 1976, she first appeared in the Marvel UK series Captain Britain. Betsy was initially a supporting character in the adventures of her twin brother, Captain Britain, even briefly substituting for him in the role, before becoming the mutant superheroine and X-Men member Psylocke in 1986.

So, from the looks on the packaging it is indeed an old figure. Still on it's MOC condition when i got it from a shop this previous Toycon PH 2014 [Philippines] - and got her for like less than $8.

All in all, you'll acquire Psylocke, a chunk og Mojo - am I the only one who is disgusts about this baf? and a black disc thing that I have no idea what for, and a 32-page comic.

Actually, I already got used to pyslocke wielding a smurai-like-katana but it seems this one failed to give her even a knife. Saddening isn't it? The only thing you can do is her 30-Point of articulation.

In Details, well it's not as good as the ones that came out recently - but atleast she looks feminine enough. The hair was badly sculpt and body from her breast to her legs wasn't proportion but then again atleast she looks feminine enough. Paints were almost bad, but I guess this was because it was already old and have been stored for a very long time now.

In the end, it still a great find.
