Marvel Legends TRU Exclusive XMEN Dark Phoenix and Cyclops

Hasbro has been surprising us with several release of different waves and exclusives of their Marvel Legend Toylines. Such as characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe , Comics and even from the Netflix Series. And one of the most awesome release they did this year is this 2-pack Dark Phoenix and Cyclops.

First things first - the packaging, this was packed in the standard Hasbro/Marvel 2-pack packaging.

And at the back, we can see the usual details about the characters and an image on where this pack was based on - The Dark Phoenix Saga *dum dum dum*.

Here's a first look to our Dark Phoenix standing over the Diamond Select Winter Soldier Base

Up in front, as you can see we still get the generic Marvel Female articulation and still won't have any double jointed elbows. The paint application was awesome specially on the head - the tips of the hair of this default head was translucent red.

 The other alternate head was a copy of the default head but with some changes, eyes are normal and the tips of the hair is not translucent. So I guess its safe to say this is the phoenix good state.

 And as I said before, the default head has a much more glaring look. Eyes and the tips of the hair is different and let's say this is the possessed state.

And on the other, there is actually a pretty much more normal head. Well as much as we can say we are satisfied with the other 2 heads, this one was pretty dissapointing since its a reuse of the old Ms. Marvel / Warbird head which was already used several times in other characters such as the EE Exclusive Gamora.

And Lastly, heres a comparison with the Juggernaut Wave Phoenix (Green). 

1. They have the same upper torso, however the legs was changed. The Green Phoenix uses  the same skinny legs the Kate Bishop (3 Pack) uses and was attached to a heeled foot which generally makes it harder to stand. On the other side, the Red Phoenix uses the same sexy legs the 3pack Ms. Marvel uses which is way better and the feet no longer has heels which makes her the ability to stand easily. But due to the changing of heels, its a cm shorter.

2. The Sash are the same except the Red Phoenix has a small logo of the Phoenix on the left.

3. Paint Application and design - well the Red has a better application but we can also see that the Phoenix Logo on the chest was bigger than the green.

And of course we have the most hated Marvel Character - Cyclops on his Giant Size Costume.

As you can see as simple as it may - this is something that looks pretty awesome.

So to make things easier, I aligned all three Cyclops to compare. Sadly, I don't have the Black Marvel Now Cyclops sinced I missed that wave during the time it was released and can no longer get a piece in a fair price.

1. Compared to the other two, the Paint Application of this 2 pack Cyclops was well applied. The washing and the the gradient was perfectly applied that the shading was highly emphasized compared to the static blue of the 90's Cyclops.

2. As similar as it may seem, the head of the 2pack Cyclops and the Puck Series Astonishing Cyclops is not the same. There are large circles on the side in the ear of the 2pack Cyclops.

Toybiz Marvel Legends Galactus Series Charles Xavier [Professor X]

Meet Professor Charles Xavier or also known as Professor X -founder of the X-Men and runs Xaviers School for the gifted which trains and shelters mutants. Also a member of the Illuminati, and 7 more affiliations. A known Telepath, a Genius level intellect and Mind Reader - well there are a lot more so you might want to research them for yourselves. And for the additional info we all know that Xavier during this time is dead based on the AVX arc and hasn't been revived on the following comics. And for the current Avengers and X-Men Axis arc, we all know that the Red Skull took Xaviers dead unconsciosus dark side mind called Onslaught hence reviving and creating the new Onslaught Red Skull. Anyway I am stating inaccurate facts here, haha.

Currently there are 2 6" figures of Prof X - this was the first one made by Toybiz and was included in the Galactus Series Wave which contains Galactus Head Baf part. The Second one was the rare Movie Professor X [Patrick Stewart supposed to be look-alike]. Well, personally I like this one better -

Well aside from Galactus enormous head - we get Xaviers full articulated dressed in a suit figure, with his cool wheelchair but how I waish it was the 90's yellow wheelchair and Cerebro - the control thingy he wears to detect and find mutants.

Well aside from the "But-I-want-the-yellow-90's-wheelchair" the figure itself was great. Articulation was good except for the hands which can only wave his fingers. The arms and Wrist, the legs and feet, even the waist are moveable. Yes, in other words it was highly poseable. The details was great too, just don't visualize Patrick Stewart instead visualize the Comic Xavier and you'll fight it pretty close.

This is how much I enjoyed the figure - xavier's hidden ability - "Get the Ladies Skill!"

Marvel Legends Toybiz Series 6 Juggernaut

The next on our list is Cain Marko, the Juggernaut and also the stepbrother of Professor X of the X-Men. Cain Marko is the son of Kurt Marko, who became Charles Xavier's stepfather when he married Sharon Xavier after the death of her husband Brian, for which Kurt was partially responsible. Kurt Marko starts to favor Charles, and abuses his own son, Cain. Cain begins to resent Charles and bullies him frequently. When Cain Marko and his step-brother Charles serve in the US Army and are stationed in Korea, Marko finds a hidden temple dedicated to the entity Cyttorak. Upon entering Marko finds and holds a huge ruby, and reads the inscription on the stone aloud: "Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become ... forevermore ... a human juggernaut!" The gem channels Cyttorak's power into Marko. The transformation causes a cave-in, with the character buried and presumably killed, not being heard from again until a sudden assault on the X-Men's headquarters. Resource According to fans, Juggernaut can actually go head to head with the Hulk. Although one of the main weakness of the Juggernaut was his vulnerability to Mental abilities [such as Charles] so he wears a helmet similar to Magneto's helmet which is invulnerable to psychic attack. The Juggernaut skills are as follows: Regenerative healing factor, Superhuman strength, stamina, durability, Force field generation, Virtually unstoppable momentum and of course Immunity to mental attacks via helmet.

Probably one of the coolest ML Toybiz there is, the long armed muscleman is a must have figure on your roster. Although more people don't usually put these, they usually put an alternative - an easier Juggernaut to find in the market which is the Disney's Marvel Select Juggernaut. Why is better? let's create a chart although I can't give you a picture of the MS since I don't have one either but I already seen and hold it once.

So, kept in mind that these are what I saw and depends on how you see the figure.

Articulation may not be the best, but this was one of the best there is. Feet, Legs, Hip, Arms, Hand and Elbow can be moved even the thumb. Waist can swivel around and lean forward and backward. The rest of the fingers should have been moveble too.

The details are awesome! Well atleast for me - by removing the helmet you'll see a smiling Cain Marko inside. From the discolored veins to the scratch mark on his helmet.

Well, did I say furiously smiling Cain Marko? So have I convinced you now that this is one of the best Juggernaut there is? NO? Have you checked out the movie Jugernaut that looks like a human bullet or the XMC Juggernaut that looks like a flattend frog?

One thing I didn't like on the figure though was the helmet itself. Unlike the MS Juggy that was a little flatter - this was has an oval shaped tip over the top which looks bad.

Marvel X-Men Classics XMC Colossus

It's been a while since my blog had an update, and yes what I said before in my previous post - instead of buying brand new stuff I decided to get loose figures instead. By this time, we will have another classic X-Men member - Piotr "Peter" Nikolaievitch Rasputin also known as Colossus. Well, among the X-Men - Colossus is one of the strongest member of the team in terms of physical aspect. Able to transform his body into "organic steel" with enhanced superhuman strength, stamina and durability.

So,this figure is not an actual Marvel Legend but in a toyline called XMC or X-Men Classics. Although running in the almost the same mold and height, the only difference you could probably notice between this and the ML Colossus would probably this 3 things: ML Colossus has pointed shoulders, ML Colossus has a different knee pad and lastly ML Colossus has a darker shade of steel. In terms on the 6" height preference they are indeed the same with almost the same mold of the head.

What really bothers me is aside from this being able to move in different poses, the paint used seems pretty bad. I actually got his wrist broken trying to rotate it by 360 degrees. The paint got it stuck all over that if you put too much pressure in twisting the joint itself would break.

Why did I even get this anyway? Probably because I got so eager to have a Colossus in my display Cab that I decided to ditch the hunting process. So which ever came first the ML or the XMC I bought it down first.
