Hasbro 3-Pack Series Collector's Edition: Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Radioactive Man

Probably the most riskiest thing I have done so far and yes I won't do this again - spending a lot for 3 figures. Unlike in other countries - items like this comes hard and expensive here so I had to save a lot If I wanted to have one. But I was to eager to have Ms. Marvel so bad that I took out some money from my savings. For the upcoming series, I guess the main target would be Scarlet Witch only since yes, I don't think I can afford it any longer and as soon as I got a few I have to cut some figures off - anyway, enough of the private stuff. Our Next post for today is Marvel's 3-Pack Collector's Edition by Hasbro released this year of 2014 and consists of 3 heroes, namely: Ms. Marvel [Warbird - Carol Danvers], Captain America [Ultimate? - Steve Rogers] and Radioactive Man.

One of the few things Hasbro is good at is, one they are good at giving out High Quality Teasers which makes the figures look good that it makes you wanna lock your wallet until it arrives. Next, the new Hasbro Infinite Series are packed in pretty neat boxes like this one - looks special huh? And althogh a little off, details are now changed and a lot more better in terms of proportionality. Hasro managed to create a female heroes with a decent detail unlike toybiz who created the anorexic Scarlet Witch and Petite Emma Frost - don't get me wrong, I like Toybiz Male Heroes.

Radioactive Man - Dr. Chen Lu was a nuclear physicist and communist agentin the People's Republic of China - was ordered to find a way to defeat Thor - Dr. Lu exposed himself to a small dose of radiation until he is able to endure a massive barrage, and becomes a living radiation and calls himself "Radioactive Man". This radiation gave him the ability to manipulate radiation all through out. Also a known member of the People's Defense Force, Thunderbolts, Masters of Evil and Titanic Three. So by Far, the details for Radioactive Man was pretty accurate since their are not much of a detail to emphasize. Although, from what I remember the logo on his chest should have yellow. And it has this cool green translucent effect. But by far, the whole mold was a recycle of other molds from previous Marvel Legends that Hasbro has released. This is actually a combination of SDCC's Luke Cage Body and I think Drax head. Then recoloured and changed to clear phasing like plastic. So more or less Hasbro did it again, re-using other molds. Well it did fit so the only problem here is movements and articulation was not that good specially on the legs because the skirt like thing around his waist blocks it's movements.

The next figure was the good ol' Captain America, Steve Rogers - yes, another Captain America. It really sucks that they had to create "Another" Captain America wherein there are so many more heroes and villains that hasn't got the reboot or doesn't even have a figure yet. And the original plan was I buying the set, Get Ms. Marvel and sell Radioactive Man and Captain America but I thought I needed Radioactive Man since this is the first Radioactve Man figure and found out that these Captain America has an awesome lower body articulation in which feels like the old figures from toybiz. And if ever you are wondering I think this is a new version of the Ultimate Captain America that has been released and has a smaller holster thingy like vest and the Swap head that looks like Commander Steve Rogers . The shield is similar to the Marvel Now! Movie Captain America but the back is coloured grey instead of Red. The problem I encountered was the shield was broken when I took it off the box and I had to do some fixing using putty since it won't stick usng the glue I use. And it won't fit just like any other shield, I find it hard to fit on the arms of Captain America. Probably the only thing I like in the figure was the similar boint joint articulation in his legs which gives highly poseable poses.

So there you go, 2-figures that are basically good but not worth having since they robably not the ones you are looking for.

The Hype - the reason I did get this after all was it's all because of Carol Danvers aka Warbird also known as Ms. Marvel. Prior to that, there was already an existing Warbird from Toybiz Giant Man Series which actually was pretty rare now a days and cost a lot more than usual. The Toybiz Version already has a great articulation but to much to your dismay the face detail was a little off. Before that who is Ms. Marvel anyway? Ms. Marvel also known as Binary or Warbird was a human fused of the alien Kree Captain Marvel after being caught in an explosion. Although Captain Marvel saved hher life, Danvers sustain serious injuries but was able to gain superhuman strength, speed, stamina and durablity. She also learned the ability to project energues and absorb - and of course flight. Known member of the Avengers but also a member of the US air Force, NASA, SHIELD, X-Men, Defenders for a Day, Starjammers, Operation: Lightnng Storm and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Let's begin, apparently this is another obviously recycled figure from Hasbro. You might be saying, or maybe not - what figure? Remember SDCC Thunderbolts, the one with Moonstone and of course Luke Cage which has a similar body with Radioactive Man that I stated a while ago - yes, this is the same Moonstone that has been recoloured to create Ms. Marvel. Well, for the body part since from all the female mold that hasbro did - the Moonstone body was by far the best in terms of movements and proportioanality. What's bad was Moonstone and this Ms. Marvel's head are the same - yes, the same. Search for Moonstone and you'll see that from the Hair colour down down to her face it was the same. I don't disagree by any of it by the chance I did like it since It fits the figure itself - and it was by far awesome! The problem is if Hasbro keeps creating figures using other characters mold then why don't they just release everything? They are using the same mold anyway and the uniqueness is somehow gone. Imagine putting Moonstone and Ms. Marvel together and non-comic book fans will say "Is this her?" or "Are they twins?". Moving On, the usual Hasbro release where only good at teasers it took me awhile to pick the one with the bestest paint and this is the bestest one I could get. Overall, it nice to finally have a new Ms. Marvel since the Toybiz one aside from being expensive and rare it doesn't have the sexy mold and awesome face such as this.

Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - Part 6 - Baron Zemo

Part 6 of my ML - Infinite Series post is the Supervillain in various Marvel Comics, Baron Zemo. As we all know there are a lot of Baron Zemo in the Marvel Universe in order of succession and I had no idea which one this is so let's just say it's a modern version of Baron Zemo.

Let's check the package, you should get Baron Zemo, his sword that looks like it came from a toy Knight, a pistol that looks like a customized Luger 9mm pistol with leopard print and due to excitement I forgot to take a shot of the Mandroid Arm [Right].

Details - Let's assume I already saw a baron Zemo that looks like this, I can say the details were great! Two thumbs up for it! It has a great sculpt even in the holster which can actually be removed. The cloth on his crotch is ridiculous though but assuming that we are looking to something we have seen before he looks great. At least he doesn't have furs just like in the animated series which probably make it look silly.

Articulation - I could say this one probably have the greatest articulation in reference with the previous 5 ML - Infinite Series that I have posted BUT what I really want to question is the QC the manufacturers do. I actually got a damaged one, his left arm is stucked and cant be bended fully - resulting for it to probably break. And his ab joint is almost loose. But in terms of the other articulation it was good.

Again just like what I said about Red Skull, this one is a good candidate for customization since it has an awesome articulation ASSUMING you don't grab a bad copy just like what I have here. SO, is he worth it? Well, probably NO - since a lot of Baron Zemo already appeared in the market and they are already good ones too so you have to choose which one suits your collection best. As for the Mandroid part, just like Red Skull you could get the Mandroid Right Arm on the Aim Soldier as a choice. And for me I took this one instead since I really don't like buying a single pawn where they should be in a group.

• Red Skull - in a trenchcoat.
• A Red Laser-like pistol - again another silly coloured armament
• A Red tactical handgun - seriously why red?
• Tesseract - an ancient asgardian artifact with unimaginable power as seen on both Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers Movie. Yeah, it looks like a Vita Cube [a sweetened gelatin like candy]
• Mandroids left arm with claw.

Features - first, what do we actually see? Seems like a pretty accurate Red Skull only he looks poor. See, why is he wearing a Nazi Trenchcoat? Well anyway, the Vita Cube I mean Tesseract was cool - and fits on his left hand. The tactical hand gun can be inserted in either the holster on his left chest or the holster on the right leg. Silly colored it may seems atleast he has some weapons unlike Black Widow who has none or Winter Soldier who has a bad one. The laser pistol is bad though.

Details - Details was good. The lips are fine but I think it would be better if he has a fiercer eyes. He doesn't look like he's angry, not angry enough. The trenchcoat is good although I'm not a fan of this kind of material. It's made of soft rubber which is vulnerable from melting if not in room temperature and since I live in a tropical country that is bad. Sculpt are good and yeah a little more fiercer would be good.

Articulation - this is the best part because articulation is bad. Probably he is a best example of "Good Details, Bad Articulation Figure". Why you ask? The Trenchcoat limits arm movements and was too heavy for it to independently stand on it's own. The leg articulation are good though.

And let's add some more points, figure would be a good customization material. Change the head or recast or remold it, add a little detail - voila! You could have a custom Nick Fury although no longer necessary since you can still get the Avengers Nick Fury on some Market - just a suggestion. So is it Worth getting? Actually, "NOT" since a lot of Red Skull Figures already appeared in the market which is not half bad. Besides he doesn't look a leader of a Nazi Rebel here,looks more like an agent. How about the Mandroid Part - you actually have an option for the Arm, you could either get Red Skull here or get the Hydra Soldier. For me, I choose Red Skull since it silly to see that you have one hydra soldier - for a pawn they should come in atleast 4 you know?

Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - Part 3 - Captain America [S.H.I.E.L.D Stealth Suit]

Added with excitement, I forgot to take shots of it's sealed condition - Part 3 of our Infinite Series is once again Captain Steve Rogers on his Agent of SHIELD Stealth Suit, yes Stealth Suit that can be seen in the opening of the Winter Soldier movie. What's really cool about this is it had it's own design of Steve's Shield coloured in titanium like blue (for me it does) - I always thought it would look good that way but since my streamline doesn't focus on Marvel Stuff I don't have much time to experiment on customizing one.

As a tradition we one by one check what we have in the package - so we have Captain America SHIELD Stealth Suit Variant thing, and a Head of Steve Rogers (No, he doesn't look anything near Chris Evans), his stealth shield, 2 more interchangeable hand (yey!) - one for saluting and for pointing on the left? and of course Mandroids Right Leg.

A cameo of Winter Soldier here, I just can't help it I wanted to play haha. Back to our topic, this one has an awesome articulation - in fact it's too awesome I wish all future ML's will be made this way. From his changeable head locked on with a ball joint over the neck , to his arms and hips and legs everything was pretty much moveable - no crunch, making poseability "GREAT!". However, the shield might look so good but I find it bad. If you remember ML's type of shields for this dude there are several variants. One is the Strap on thing, example from the Face-Off series, then there's this PEG type thing and this Arm braced shield type. And this one here falls under the brace type in which you can't put it over his back - only in his arms.

Sculpt was pretty much neat and his head is changeable to an unmasked one same with Winter Soldier - but unlike WS this one is handsome but again he doesn't look near Chris Evans - More like Ken from Barbie. Body sculpt, proportionally built and not too buffed neither too thin - I can say this is one of the best body sculpt there is. And a plus points, for the interchangeable hands.

Paint is good - well as long as you don't play with it - it's very accurate but looking from it thoroughly it's so prone from paint chips. Now, again biggest question - Is it worth getting? - Well, for me probably yes - one of the best Captain America I had seen - and the fact that it has solid articulation and has a pretty accurate detail. And if you are planning to build Mandroid, you must get him because he is the only one who has the right leg.

Marvel Legends - Infinite Series - Part 2 - Winter Soldier [Bucky]

First, let's see - our package contains Winter Soldier in his Captain America: The Winter Soldier Movie Costume. Also contains Unmasked Head, a silly red rifle and Mandroid's Left Leg.

Yes, this is the silly red rifle. First, why is it red? Looks like a kid's toy. Second, it's made of rubber so packaging almost destroyed it's alignment. Third, it's the same weapon from the Hydra Soldier. Fourth, it doesn't fit.

The Unmasked Head that looks more like Froddo with a serious case of insomnia. The sculpt in the face and it's shape isn't bad though - whats bad as always are the sculpt in the hair.

Details wasn't bad with the Masked Head attached - the hair is bad but unnoticeable since the Mask on his face creates a great attention. The colours are good especially the Cybernetic Arm. Paint chips from production are unnoticeable if there are any.

One of the problems you might encounter, aside from the hands that remains the way they are, his rifle itself doesn't actually fit - recycling old molds huh. Aside from being a not so good rifle it doesn't match either. Then did I say those hands stay as it is?

Articulation ain't good - but ain't bad either. The same problem with Captain America NOW! - problem in the AB-joint can be noticed. It permits poses at the same time those strap-like-things on his legs limits it too.

Well atleast we can still pose him. Again, the biggest Question - Is it Worth Getting? Well, typically he is not worth it because of the bad hair sculpt, bad hand sculpt and bad rifle - but credits to the Cybernetic Arm and Masked Head he looked Great and slightly worth getting. Next, he has Mandroid's Left leg so completing Mandroid he is a must. Not so great, Not so bad.

Marvel Universe 3.75" Ultimate Gift Set 5-Pack

A couple of weeks a ago, Isaw these guys on sale for like $22 a set, and I wanted to get them for some reason an aura from the unknown was dragging me not to. Then A few more weeks after watching AS2 and getting myself the MLIS Spidey 2 I found these guys on sale for like $15 so what the hell, I'm getting them! So, maybe why people arent buying these set is mainly the figures itself was so basic looking that it really doesn't have anything much to offer. But actually it does have something that would make you rethink why you should get it. But first let's see what's inside one by one.

See, this is box and an awfully bad box too - not much of a design and really looks old. Superheros in their Classic suits.

Thor

The Asgardian fellow, wielder of the Mighty Mjolnir - looks like the old Thor in the comics and looks more a lot like the the old release of MU Thor. Except for a minor change in the yellow part which was colored deeper and a  not so different head - the wings differs a little from other classic Thor MUs.

Wolverine

The fan favored ferocious beast of all time - well, wearing his brown-yellow classic scheme that looks a lot like Daken. And he is a little fat, but giving credits to the oh so flexible pivot. But please whoever designed these, we don't need that sword, be real man what would you do with a katana when you got sharp claws on both hand? Even if that's Muramasa' s blade we prefer his Hands clenched.

Spiderman

The Greatest hero - So, at first Iw as so excited because these guy has this packing web bag ang web like props but all those were suddely turned down - his articulation sucks! he can't move his wait unlike the first release. And so on, details was as crappy as crap.

Ironman

The billionaire Philantropist - His classsic retro armor, but because of the crappy details he looks like he lost a part of Stark's financial stocks already. Face details was bad as if he was having a bad day and what's with the blast effect? He looks like a Fireman.

Captain America

Good old red, white and blue - No, not Captain Puerto Rico but our good old capt! well, yes it was bad too, paint job was sick, But here is the good part. See that shield? The Translucent Captain America Shield.This shield was Exclusive to this set. So, if you're thinking getting this is not that worth it - think again. You won't get that shield anywhere.
