[Bandai] - SHFiguarts - Sailor Saturn

I have been away for awhile, so updates are a little late. Anyway, our next toy in the line for today is the sixth sailor senshii figure from Bandai SHF- yes the 6th figure - Hotaru Tomoe also known as the Sailor Saturn - well for the fact that I had to tighten my budget this past few months I managed to still get this pretty looking figure. I had to sold some figures just to have the decent amount to pay for her. But yes, I have no regrets - this cutie is awesome!

Well, I did promise that I won't be posting any more figure boxes to limit the images on a post but just to show everyone that this is authentic - i'll make an exception.

Never forget that as much you can check the stickers and shake the box before buying it, the usual SHF Sailormoon KO's have an extra feature - the shakeable head.

There we go, a manual, a set of hands, her action stand, Tomoe and of course my favourite - her staff! Unlike the previous ones she has her staff! Oh joy!

Aside from the staff, this thing caught my attention. Well I am not actually sure of this is the first or probably a version feature (US or Japanese) since the other figures I have never had this. So, what am I talking about? The hands has some kind of holder for each pair which makes it more oganized.

What's the cinch? Actually no difference on the articulation - The staff was harder to carry since it's slide upon the gaps between the fingers.

But it makes a great balancer for quick poses such as this.

Nothing much has changed.

The details well a lot better and paint dubs and mis aligned paints were a little less.

I do agree the first time I saw this, It took me awhile before I noticed she was cute. And one of the best parts was the height comparison between each sailor was accurate.

And just like Jupiter - this one is a bit photogenic too!

Meet Makoto Kino aka Sailor Jupiter the fifth Sailor Senshi in the Manga and Third in the anime adaptation. Well probably her delayed release made Sailor Fans go rant - why? the issue is, SHF Sailor Venus was released earlier than her, they believed that she should have come in first. Well probably, the manufacturers took the order in the manga rather than the order in the anime adaptation. But enough of that, atleast she was released. She would be my fifth Sailor Senshi and probably would be the last since Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are no longer regular release but will already be P-Bandai Online Exclusives - well obviously if they would release Chibi Moon and Tuxedo Mask the probability of them being Online Exclusives are quite high.

Box depicts the Sailor's color scheme, as for Jupiter the box is coloured in light green with a dash of pink. Takte note of the Toei Animation Certificate sticker and the Tamashii Nation Sticker to somehow avoid bootlegs.

Back of the box shows the preview of everything inside, well one thing I never liked about this figures are the lack of accessories itself. Maybe because they are in their first stage but it's like buying a single doll everytime. If I rememeber correctly, Jupiter has a lance/spear which would be great if they included it.

Contents - The heart shaped stand written with Jupiter with Symbol, Bangs with antennae and 5 pair of hands and 3 more faceplates.

Details - Getting an image of Jupiter [no not the planet.] as a reference would be a great help although probably useless. See, details are good - hair sculpt has swivelling peg and looks quite good and doesnt limit any head movement like Mars. Colour is brown same as Jupiter's hair and the Uniform is great just like the other Senshiis. The Pink bow is a little lighter though but fits perfectly in the colour combination and for the green parts, they are a bit shiny in a special kind of way just like the others. And she has the most awesome boots of them all.

And you should be asking now, Jupiter should be taller than the others and is she? Is she taller than the others? Yes, she is a cm higher than the others.

Here we see her in her final attack Jupiter Thunder pose thing, with the bangs with the antennae and the angry faceplate that looks really BAD. Yes, it does look bad.

She looks like a grumpy, lifeless teen when she wears it.

But in some point comparing her to the other Sailor Senshi figures that I have [namely the four] she was the best of them all. Well atleast for me she is the best. Why? No, it's not about the articulation itself since they all have the same joints but it's because of the details that somehow affect articulation too. First, comparing it to Sailormoon her hair doesn't get in the way. Comparing to Sailor Mars, we all know the problem with Mars is her hair gets in the way over the neck and looks like she has no neck at all unlike Jupiter who has a longer neck. Comparing to Sailor Mercury which has a bad hair sculpt. And finally, comparing her to Sailor Venus who has a bad paint job this one has better. Those are my opinion.

And for some reason, I find her Photogenic and easier to pose. Quite look cute on the camera, the cute colour scheme of green and pink which is not quite common.

So, is she worth getting? Well, if you are collecting them the answer is obviously Yes. If you just want to have her and are looking for a Jupiter figure - Yes, probably she would be one of the best you would find out in the market for now we still have to wait for other toy lines to release their version so we could fully compare.

Sailor Venus was the first Sailor Senshi to be awakened by the moon cats, one year before Sailor Moon, but she was the last Senshi to appear in the show's first season. Her civilian identity was Minako Aino, or Mina in the English dub. She met Artemis when she was 13 years old.

See, we have 3 more faceplates aside from the default attached to venus: Mad, Serious and Gay - i think. And 4 pairs of hands aside from the original open ones that are defaultly attached to Sailor Venus.

And a red-framed mask attached to her extra bangs, and a hand that shows her holding the mask for an "I remove the mask for you to know who I am thing" and Artemis, her white male neko.

Sailor Venus - Front - So, what did I actually noticed at first upon helding it with my hand was it was the joints was and articulation was loose. Not as a bootleg loose, but a little much loose. I had encountered this before in Sailor Mars comparing it to the first two (Moon and Mercury). And I found a chip in the right leg which yes, got me a little furious.

Let's Strike a Pose - Next is the crappy paint job that was done. Yes, it's crappy - crappier than Mars and hoping Jupiter has a better paint job than this.

Signature Pose with Mask - now striking a pose with the mask attached is hard, well close enough. And one thing though, thankfully this one has her neck longer unlike Mars. Since Venus and Mars has the same straight hair - different in color - it is most likely they should be using the same structure but thankfully they are not. What I didn't like about Mars is the she loses her neck when she poses but this one it's much better.

Mask removing - Well, it's about time she removes that mask and shows her cute face. And yes, this one lacks gimmicks. Just like Mars who doesn't have a bow - this one has nothing to show you either except for Artemis and her mask.

Now, since all the comment I made was good enough to say this is an Overrun or a Bootleg - Im including this here as proof it is bought in Hong Kong-

Sailor Mars is one of the five original Inner Sailor Senshi of the Solar System, and was the fourth Sailor Senshi introduced in the anime. Her civilian identity is Rei Hino. Her attacks are based around fire, psychic powers, and spiritual powers. This is the first animated depiction of the original manga character.

The third Sailor Senshi released by [Bandai] SHF - Now, what really bothers me afar from the first two, Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury - this one is pretty much easier to much. Less tighter Joints but not loose. The Color Scheme was a little different, not as shiny as Mercury, and smudges of paints are found. This is the tricky part, earlier today when I pick this up in a store who knows me a little because I always buy my Gundam Kits there - since they are always early and they are the nearest in my office - the storekeeper showed me this. She said that after I left the other day after picking up Star Build Strike, this Figure arrived. So, I said - "Oh my, I'll take on" - and while she was preparing the receipt, I found a Bootleg Sailor Moon. She was honest to me, since I saw the price was so low and the head was moving and admits that it was a Bootleg that's why it's displayed outside the counter. So, I got these feeling that this Mars is a bootleg. But let's see...

Here is the front Box, a little dent isn't it? But since most figures are shipped I guess this one was one of the unlucky ones who got a little dent. Second, that Box Art is normal , the Bootleg I saw was badly printed. Official stickers can be found too.

As you can see, excluding the hand attached to the figure - 8 Hands [Left and Right], one Praying Hand, 3 Faceplate and a Burning Seal thing. Bad isn't it? So few accessory, I was hoping for a bow - But No! they put a "ONE PIECE" sealing / burning / praying Paper! That they could have already attached to the other hand that was made for it like the one they did with Sailor Moons Beam Ring thing.

Let's Examine, Articulation was good - so good that I am really having a doubt whether it's an authentic one. The Articulation was much softer that the first two, joints are slightly loose but not loosed. And It was easier to pose, and "NO PART OF IT WAS EVEN FALLING APART". The colour scheme seems to be different, not as glossy as the first 2's skirts and Smudges of paints, noob marks are found.

The hair in back, moves too - and we can assume that when Venus arrives the hair would be almost the same design as this one. What is disappointing here is, the hair blocks the claws of the heart-shaped stand making it hard to use. You can try posing her without it, but believe me you'll spend a lot of time making her stand all by herself.

So, what do you think? is it a BL or Not :) Anyway, here is a recap of what we have known so far or possible issues whether it's a BL or Not

• Color Scheme ain't that shiny - confirming still if this was a BL
• Stand is useless because of her Hair - a little posing talent is required
• Fewer Content - only a seal?

In the end, Authentic or Not in which I do know it was - it's still a good keep whether you want to collect them or your just a fan of Sailor Mars - Have a nice day everyone!
